wedding invitations: the main event

now that the envelopes for our invitations were embossed, addressed, and lined it is time to talk about what we put in them, starting with the actual invitation!

i quickly realized that by deciding on a signature font early on i had painted myself into a corner. everything else on the internet, while beautiful, just didn't match. so i decided to design my own invitations with power point.

the problem i quickly realized was that i considered most wedding invitation wording too formal (i.e. mr. and mrs. david kempner formally invite you to the wedding of their daughter Margaret alalia to victor thomas lamond), which just isn't very us. so after a little brainstorming we came up with the following:

please join us

for the wedding of

maggie kempner

&

victor lamond

merriment to follow

i figured it would be a good idea to have them professionally printed to i printed my power point as a picture and uploaded it to zazzle for printing.

when the final product arrived i thought they looked...meh.

so i took them to the local copy shop and sliced a quarter inch of each side:

Once i mounted them on spruce a7 cards from paper source and gave each one a fern they were looking pretty snappy.
